So where is Mingarry Park?

Mingarry Park is a small crofting community situated in Moidart in The Heart of Lochaber in the West Highlands of Scotland.  Mingarry is a wee place indeed, and so not included on a many a modern road map.  You may find it on OS Maps marked as Mingarry Park and your SatNav will probably direct you to the nearby village of Dalnabreck if you seach by postcode (PH36 4JX), another wee highland crofting community just a couple of miles down the road.  Fear not, Mingarry does indeed exist, and when you make it here you'll probably never want to leave...

People heading to the village of Mingarry have sometimes been known to head down the B007 from Salen to Kilchoan, Way out West on The Ardnamurchan Peninsula towards Mingary Castle.  A great day out, but Mingary Castle and the village of Kilchoan are around 45 minutes drive away from the wee village of Mingarry.

Mingarry is around 2 miles from the local village of Acharacle and approximately 45 miles by road from Fort William.  The village of Acharacle has a general store and post office, medical practice, garage services (not petrol though), a hotel and a range of eating establishments and holiday accommodation. There are also pubs nearby in Salen and Glenuig.  Mingarry itself has a Catholic Church, with a resident priest and regular services, as well as an AA One Rosette restauarant serving evening meals and afternoon teas.

The village of Mingarry is ideally situated for touring Moidart, Morvern, Morar and The Ardnamurchan, as well as the Fort William area, The Small Isles and the Isles of Mull and Skye.  At times you may find your road blocked by a flock of sheep, the occasional wandering red deer or some locals having a chat.  Relax, take you time, and just enjoy...
